Redevelopment Project

Port Botany is one of the busiest ports in Australia. It’s a major commercial area, with multiple terminals and is serviced by both road and rail, with the international and domestic airports nearby.

The Port Botany Redevelopment Project involved the expansion of the recently reclaimed land by Sydney Ports Corporation (SPC), adjacent to the current Patrick Stevedores Port Botany Terminal, to provide a new ramp access.

The work carried out by Fulton Hogan included:

  • Post-tensioned/reinforced concrete pavement for heavy straddle traffic
  • Concrete pavers and sub-base designed for the container stacking areas
  • Asphalt pavement for roadway type traffic
  • Storm water drainage infrastructure
  • Light tower foundations and light and radar poles
  • Water, waste and fire-fighting services
  • HV & LV Electrical conduit & pits
  • Throughout the project, Fulton Hogan laid 5,000 tonne of specialised asphalt mix over 13,500m² of storage area for shipping containers.

Fulton Hogan’s work on this project has helped to improve opportunities for this major container trade port for Sydney to be connected to the world. Our comprehensive understanding of a live bulk handling port environment helped ensure that the port operations were able to continue without interruptions, while achieving an excellent safety performance.
