Fulton Hogan’s quarrying division has won the prestigious inaugural WorkSafe New Zealand Chief Inspector Safety Leadership Award for the Extractives Industry in recognition of its commitment towards safety leadership in the industry.
The award was presented to Fulton Hogan’s National Aggregate and Quarries Manager, Bruce Taylor, who says “Safety always comes first at Fulton Hogan – we continually invest in looking after our people.”
“We are delighted that our focus on improving safety in our quarries has been given national recognition,” he said.
“Our aim is to lift industry safety through safety leadership. We have come a long way but will continue to keep our people safe and work towards achieving Zero Harm” said Bruce.
WorkSafe New Zealand Chief Inspector Tony Forster said “WorkSafe are impressed by the effort Fulton Hogan has put into addressing the Health and Safety in Employment (Mining Operations and Quarrying Operations) Regulations 2013 through their health and safety management processes, quarry manuals, quarry management plans and employee handbook.”
“In addition, the company’s high level of engagement with the regulator and industry has been outstanding and this award recognises their sterling efforts,” he said.
