New appointment for Christchurch rebuild

Over the next ten years it is estimated that Christchurch will see between NZ$30 – 40bn worth of construction, as a result of the earthquakes of 2010 and 2011. Not only is Fulton Hogan an integral part of the Stronger Christchurch Rebuild (SCIRT); the alliance established to manage the rebuild of all horizontal infrastructure, but many of our regional Canterbury business units are working on and supplying to SCIRT, and the broader rebuild.

Recognising the strategic importance of Christchurch market, Fulton Hogan has appointed Tony Gallagher as General Manager – Christchurch Rebuild.  Our Civil South and Rebuild teams now report to Tony, who will also work closely with our regional teams, to make sure we continue to have a strong footprint in Christchurch during and after the rebuild.

“We want to ensure Fulton Hogan is well positioned to meet the needs of our customers by offering them innovative and cost effective solutions in a seamless manner. Our customers want to deal with Fulton Hogan and not a number of siloed business units” explains Robert Jones COO Infrastructure in New Zealand. “With so many staff interacting with customers in Christchurch it was essential for us to move to a smarter more efficient structure to better coordinate our efforts, for both our customers and for us.”

“We have many highly capable and dedicated staff here in Christchurch. Their ability to work together to create the positive Fulton Hogan culture and go that extra mile is what gives us a competitive edge and is valued by our customers,” explains Tony. “This will not only be an exceptional period of growth for Christchurch, but it will also be an exceptional period of development in the careers of our people as they step up to the challenges and play a part in rebuilding the community of Christchurch.”
