Infrastructure experts

Fulton Hogan has been involved in many leading international infrastructure projects and we are dedicated to helping connections between business, individuals and communities.

The Princes Highway is the major coastal route from Sydney to the Victorian border, via Illawarra and the South Coast of NSW. The upgrade was one of the three projects on the Princes Highway to improve safety, efficiency and connectivity of the vital route.

This project involved the upgrade of the 7.5 km, 4-lane highway between Pleasant and Toolijooa Road and construction of two new interchanges with access to Gerringong and Gerroa.

Latest features

This significant infrastructure project features two new grade-separated interchanges, a new overbridge replacing a railway level crossing, 27 bridge structures (of which nine are twin), 16 retaining walls and five major culverts. In addition, there are four new shared access roads that will connect to the upgraded highway.

Utilising Fulton Hogan’s unique vertically-integrated model, 160,000 tonnes of asphalt was produced in Fulton Hogan’s own Kembla Grange asphalt plant for the works.

The project’s success is just another example of the way Fulton Hogan’s infrastructure expertise helps bring communities closer together.
